Sally Campbell Counselling & Psychotherapy
Individuals & Couples/Relationship therapy

Paths to healing
I am a Psychotherapist, offering inclusive and compassionate therapy both online and in person. My work is grounded in Gestalt psychotherapy, informed by trauma awareness, diversity and a deep respect for each persons story.
I believe therapy is a space to be seen and supported - a place where you can begin to make sense of things, at your own pace, and just as you are.
Here you can learn more about how I work and the different ways we can meet - online, in person, and outdoors.

Introduction
Support That Makes a Difference
I care deeply about offering inclusive and compassionate support. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe to explore whatever you are carrying - with understanding, kindness and without judgement.
I believe that when we feel truly seen and supported, change and healing become possible. Together, we can deepen awareness and understanding , paying gentle attention to your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
I work in a trauma informed way, which means that I always prioritise your safety, choice, and emotional wellbeing.
I have experience working with (and not limited to):
Anxiety & Depression
Life transitions - change through divorce, redundancy, bereavement
Gender, Sexuality, Relationship Diversity
Unresolved Trauma & Shame
Relationship difficulties, patterns and rhythms

My approach to relationship counselling is about offering a calm, steady space where individuals and couples can tend to their relationships with care and respect. My role is to create a space where each person feels seen and heard, and able to speak honestly.
When helpful, I may offer gentle psychoeducation - exploring how nervous systems, attachment patterns, unresolved trauma and communication styles live within relationships and shape how we connect, protect, and repair.
Working with relationships, particularly when there are feelings of stuckness, hurt, betrayal or loneliness takes time, and bravery. I recognise the courage it takes to step forward and look at what is happening between you. Relationship counselling does not guarantee a particular outcome. Instead, it offers a way of understanding and reflecting on each person within a relationship with compassion and respect and often new insight.
Whether you are hoping to reconnect, find clarity, or make sense of what feels unresolved, counselling can offer a thoughtful space to slow things down and listen more carefully.
You don't need to know where you are heading - only that something here deserves care and attention.

More about me
Dip Gestalt Psychotherapy (GPTI), Cert Counselling Skills (COSCA), MSc Psychology & Health, BA (hons) Psychology
I have been working with clients since 2015, in both the voluntary sector and in private practice. My core training was in Gestalt psychotherapy with the Edinburgh Gestalt Institute, and my approach is now complemented by further study in complex trauma, somatic therapy, outdoor therapeutic practice and neurodivergence.
Inclusion and diversity are central to how I work - they inform both my practice and my personal values.
I recently completed my training in couples & relationship counselling. I am excited to expand my practice offering to include relationship counselling both in person (Liverpool) and online UK wide.
Over the years I have worked as a sessional counsellor with Harbour Counselling and Mindspace in Perthshire, and I also taught Counselling & Psychology at Perth College, UHI for six years. More recently, I have worked with Venture Trust, a respected organisation known for its therapeutic and personal development work in outdoor settings. I am currently working with RASASC in Ellesmere Port, England.
I have regular supervision with an experienced supervisor who supports my work through constructive challenge and guidance - something I value deeply as part of my professional integrity.
When I am not working, I spend time outdoors - walking, swimming or simply breathing in the fresh air. As I navigate an empty nest, I find I am drawn to quieter moments of reflection and growth. My mindfulness practice helps me stay balanced and present, and I continue my own personal therapy as part of my commitment to self care and professional development.

The Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drakerests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free. Wendell Berry
